JBF Cookbook Nominees

JBF Cookbook Nominees

This week, the James Beard Foundation announced the nominees for outstanding achievement in book, broadcast media, and journalism—aka the Oscars of the food world! After a brief hiatus, the 2022 awards are particularly competitive because all food-related books published in both 2021 and 2020 were eligible to enter. A big professional goal of mine is to see my name on this list (one day!), and I was completely thrilled to see several books that I worked on were honored among the nominees. Roxana Jullapat’s Mother Grains: Recipes for the Grain Revolution is a finalist in the Baking and Desserts category. For the International category, two of the three nominees are books that I adapted for North American readers: Falastin: A Cookbook by Sami Tamimi and Tara Wigley and Ripe Figs: Recipes and Stories from Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus by Yasmin Khan. Congratulations to all the nominees!
