5 Years

Today is our fifth wedding anniversary. Five years of cooking dinner together, sharing secrets and jokes, and learning how best to love each other. But the truth is, I’ve been in love with Graham Willis Bradley for way longer than five years. I’ve loved him from the moment I saw him standing on my apartment doorstep, ready to take me on our first date. (He was wearing a peacoat and Vans sneakers—can you blame me?) I’ve known him for nearly half of my life. I have become a better person simply by spending time around him.

We’re taking the day off to celebrate. We’ll pick up coffee and drive west to the Point Reyes seashore. We’ll find somewhere to buy picnic provisions and then we’ll find somewhere beautiful to eat lunch.
